Snowfall in Yilan, Taiwan. Icy Roads Shut Down Temporarily

Snow in Taiwan?! Yes, if you’re in the island today, you certainly felt the cold front that came in this weekend. Due to this cold front, Taiping National Park actually had some snow fall accumulating this afternoon. As a result, the park was flooded with tourists and visitors who’ve probably never seen snow in Taiwan.

As of this morning, 3000 visitors have already rushed into Taiping National Park. Hostels and hotels are all fully booked. Roads to the mountain has also been closed temporarily due to icy conditions. Many visitors have also rushed to Yangmingshan National Park in anticipation of snow.

Hehuanshan in Central Taiwan has also experienced some snow fall. New Taipei joins the snow club.
