A week after Typhoon Soudelor’s destruction, Taiwan is yet facing another challenge this coming weekend. Though the Central Weather Bureau hasn’t confirmed its path, Typhoon Goni will surely cause some panic among some residents of Taiwan.
Places like Wulai still haven’t recovered from Soudelor. On August 8th, Firefighters reported that homes in the Xiaoyi village, Wulai had “disappeared” following the landslide. Luckily, residents were all accounted for on August 10th.
The CWB predicts that Goni will be the closest to the island on Saturday (Aug 22nd) and Sunday (Aug 23rd) and will have sea warnings as soon as Thursday. The Bureau urges residents to be well -supplied and equipped for the 14th Pacific typhoon.
