Today, Taiwanese legislator – 盧秀燕 urged the government to be more transparent and reveal its data. Citizens have the rights to know if they are consuming lead in their drinking water. She also demanded the government to provide free body checks and solutions for citizens.
John Deng, the Minister of Economic Affairs states that improvements and check ups are constantly being made to the quality of drinking water in Taiwan.
Out of the 36,000 households affected, 30,000 of them are in Taipei City, mainly in the Wanhua, Zhonghe, Yonghe, and Xindian area.
